After being delayed out of 2019 just a few months back, Bloodroots is finally going to be making his way to consoles and PC in just a few short weeks.

Paper Cult Games at long last announced today that Bloodroots, the colorful, indie action title, will be releasing on PS4, Switch, and PC on February 28, 2020. The game will retail for $19.99 and will release exclusively on the Epic Games Store for PC users. Additionally, Bloodroots is 10% off on the Epic Games Store if you pre-order it ahead of release.

If you’re unfamiliar with Bloodroots, it’s a fast-paced action game where you play as the aforementioned character of Mr. Wolf. Rather than disposing of enemies with specific weapon types, however, Bloodroots allows you to use everything that has been placed in the environment around you to deal some damage. These weapons can include more straightforward types like a sword or axe, but can also include some wackier kinds like a fish or ladder. Essentially, anything that you see in Bloodroots can be a weapon, so grab everything in site and use it to your advantage.

Personally, I’ve been tracking Bloodroots down to play at every gaming convention I’ve gone to over the past year or so. Despite seemingly borrowing ideas from other games I have played in the past, Bloodroots seems like one of the more unique indies I’ve seen in quite some time. I’ve been looking forward to this release for quite some time and I’m hoping the final version of the game can match my own excitement.

Stay tuned in the coming weeks as we’ll likely have a review for Bloodroots out at one point or another.
