Over on the employment page for Blizzard Entertainment, new job listings have appeared that seem to reveal some of the projects that Blizzard has in store for the future, all of which are unannounced, but one that will certainly ring a (demonic) bell: Diablo.

Around 28 job listings have been posted for unannounced projects at Blizzard, with the majority tied to a Diablo focused project. The listings for the Diablo project specifically tie to roles such as Dungeon and Environment Artists, Software Engineers, and higher level roles such as a Creative Director.

While details of what the project exactly is are vague, most of the listings say that “the minions of Hell are growing stronger…”, and explicitly state that Blizzard is “working on a new, unannounced Diablo project.” Whether that means it is an expansion for the most recent entry in the series, Diablo III, or a new entry in the series entirely is unknown at this point.

Aside from the Diablo project, the rest of the listings seem tied to two other unannounced projects from Blizzard, the first being “a new experience for mobile” (with roles tied to it including an Animator position and Senior Game Producer), and another that appears to be an unannounced first-person title.

While the logical conclusion may be something related to Overwatch, the roles listed may point to something else that is entirely new from Blizzard, as the roles listed for that project include a Senior/Principal Game Designer, and a Lead Software Engineer that appears to be contributing to the development of “a robust first-person engine for an unannounced project.”

Though these projects are still very much under wraps at Blizzard, the Diablo entries in particular seem encouraging that we may be on the verge of getting a brand new entry in the long-running RPG series, given that the project seems to be staffing for some very major roles in the production.
