BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle Announced for Consoles: BlazBlue X Persona X RWBY X Under Night Crossover

Today, during EVO 2017, BlazBlue developer Arc System Works announced a brand new fighting game: BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle.

The game is a massive crossover between BlazBlue: CentralFiction itself, Persona 4: Arena, French Bread’s Under Night In-Birth Exe: Late[st], and Monty Oum’s RWBY.

If you’re not familiar with RWBY, it’s because it’s not a video game (well, it has a video game titled RWBY: Grimm Eclipse, but it’s a fairly niche production), it’s an anime-style web series created by animator Monty Oum and published by Rooster Teeth. It debuted in 2013 and has gathered a lot of popularity across four seasons.

Its popularity spread far enough, that the series has been broadcasted on TV in Japan side-by-side with popular anime, even if its original creator sadly passed away in 2015.

At the moment not much information has been shared about the game beyond the teaser trailer below, and a few pieces of character art which you can see in the gallery alongside the official logo.

We also know that BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle is a 2D fighting game, currently in development internally by Arc System Works, and it will be released in 2018 for home consoles. No specific platforms have been announced.

On top of the new game, the developer and publisher also shared news on its latest 2D fighting game BlazBlue CentralFiction, that will get a new character this summer, Jubei. You can see a trailer at the bottom of the post.

BlazBlue CentralFiction is currently available for PS3, PS4 and PC.
