Sega revealed in this week’s Famitsu Magazine that a new game in the Blade Arcus fighting game series is coming for PS4 and Switch. The game is titled Blade Arcus Rebellion from Shining, and will launch in Japan on March 14th.

Blade Arcus is a tag 2D fighting game series featuring multiple Shining games with character designs by Takayuki Tanaka, such as Shining Blade and Shining Arts. Blade Arcus Rebellion from Shining will add characters from the latest Shining game, Shining Resonance Refrain. In total, over 20 characters will be playable, including Yuma, Kirika, Sonia, Rinna, Zest and fan favorite Excela. Each character will have unique skills too.

A Limited Edition was also announced, containing a copy of Blade Arcus Rebellion From Shining, a Visual book, a Drama CD, an OST CD, a DLC code to download a bonus costume for Kirika and an A3 poster.

The previous game, Blade Arcus from Shining EX, launched for PS3 and PS4 in Japan, and on Steam in the west, under the name Blade Arcus from Shining: Battle Arena. So it’s not impossible this new game comes to the west one day too. Meanwhile, Shining Resonance Refrain is currently available in the west for PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.

Last but not least, Blade Arcus Rebellion from Shining will include an online mode, something that the previous game lacked, though the Steam release did add one.

You can find below a preview of the Famitsu pages featuring the game. This article will be updated with more details and screenshots from Famitsu scans when the magazine releases on Thursday midnight JST.
