Following yesterday’s reveal, Koei Tecmo had more Attack on Titan 2 content to share today via a second press release from the Japanese arm of the company.

The screenshots feature two new elements of the game designed to improve its gameplay from its 2016 predecessor.

First of all, as you can see below, we’ll be able to use a monocular telescope to survey the situation before engaging in combat with the giants. It’s certainly a good way to avoid falling into a trap.

Secondly, the screenshot at the bottom of the post shows something rather interesting: not only character gameplay will benefit from more variety, but the movements of the titans will also become more varied and aggressive. For example, in the image we can see a giant jumping to grab a soldier that was zipping around using the three-dimensional maneuver gear. Looks like the sensation of excessive safety we had in the first game once we got used to the controls might be gone in the sequel, which is definitely a good thing.

Attack on Titan 2 will be released in the west for PS4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch, even if we don’t have a firm release window for the moment. In Japan, it’s scheduled to come in early 2018 for PS4, PS Vita and Switch.
