Last August, indie developer Atooi, which is owned by former Renegade Kid founder Jools Watsham, released Chicken Wiggle for the Nintendo 3DS. Unfortunately, the game did not do as well as the developer had hoped, so Atooi has been teasing the idea of bringing the game to Nintendo Switch via KickStarter. That dream has finally become a reality, as a crowdfunding campaign has begun for the Nintendo Switch version of the game, titled Chicken Wiggle Workshop.

The game has a funding goal of $30,000, and at the time of this writing Chicken Wiggle Workshop has already raised $14,112. The lowest one can pledge is $5, which will just net you a place in the game’s credits and exclusive wallpapers; meanwhile, the highest you can put towards the game is $500, which will net you an invite to the wrap party for Chicken Wiggle Workshop alongside the game and some other digital and physical goodies. Atooi also has some stretch goals in mind but has not shared them at this time.

For those of you who don’t know, Chicken Wiggle is a 2D platformer starring a chicken that also features an extensive level editor for players to mess around with. If it’s completely funded, Chicken Wiggle Workshop on Nintendo Switch will include all of the existing user-made levels from the 3DS version alongside a new beautiful hand-drawn art style. That being said, the original pixel-based graphics can be toggled on and off.

You can check out some comparison images between the Switch and 3DS versions of the game below alongside a video where Jools Watsham goes over the project. Chicken Wiggle is currently available on 3DS, with Chicken Wiggle Workshop having an estimated release window of December 2018.
