Atlus has established its own publishing team in London, according to GamesIndustry. This part of the company will be operating from SEGA Europe’s offices, and will publish all of Atlus’ own titles in Europe.

Before this, Atlus would use third-party publishing partners, which usually lead to the European releases of many of their titles being somewhat out of sync with the other versions of the game. Atlus stated that establishing this office will let them support from the region better. It should lead to more standardized European releases for their titles, and will hopefully give European players the same access to the special editions of games and other products that are currently only available within the US and other markets.

The branch already has a Commercial Director, Simon Inch, and they are looking to hire PR and Product Marketing Managers as the branch gets up and running. Atlus was able to make this move with the help of SEGA, who acquired the company all the way back in 2013. Jacob Nahin, Senior PR Manager at Atlus US, had the following to say about how publishing their own games in Europe shows growth:

“It is a strong example of the growth we are experiencing as a company. Publishing in Europe is simply the next step for us. What this means initially for fans is a parity for launch and premium editions. From a business perspective, we’ll be better positioned to address the needs of each market in which we release our titles.”

2017 has been a strong year for Atlus so far, as they released Persona 5 to critical acclaim; you can check out our review if interested.
