If you want to catch a glimpse on what Assassin’s Creed Origins looks like running on Xbox One X, you have come to the right place.

At Gamescom in Cologne, Germany, DualShockers was allowed to record quite a chunk of lovely gameplay from the area of Memphis and its surroundings, with the game running on Xbox One X.

As Bayek is reunited with his wife, Aya, we launch an investigation in the city of Memphis to discover who has been poisoning the sacred pull of Apis, and then we assault a temple to rescue a hostage.

After that, we explore the desert surrounding the city, and one of the pyramids, where we have to solve a puzzle to find some well deserved loot.

Last, but not least, we use Byek’s trusted eagle to take an aerial gander at the majestic environment. What’s most impressive is that this is just a fraction of the game’s world. Having seen the full map afterwards (unfortunately we couldn’t record that), it’s many, many times bigger.

As a small note of color, if you feel an Italian and a French accent on the background, those aren’t NPCs. That’s me and the game’s Creative Director chatting away, unaware that my microphone was set to record as well. Luckily, the volume was very low, so it shouldn’t be too disturbing.

And now, without further ado, I leave you with the majestic city of Memphis.

If you want to see moreyou can check out the cinematic trailer, a video on combat, one on the open world, some gameplay and a trailer from Microsoft’s press conference at E3, another trailer from Ubisoft’s own briefingan impressive batch of screenshots, and more gameplay on Xbox One X.

Assassin’s Creed Origins will launch for PS4, Xbox One and PC on October 27th.
