Ubisoft has announced that Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is getting a free weekend for a limited period of time, allowing players to jump on, try the game, and consider grabbing it to own. This comes at a great moment when most of the world has taken to self-isolation amid the coronavirus outbreak.

The free weekend takes place on March 19 and will continue until March 22. The game will be available to play entirely for free and to ensure you’re getting the most playtime out of the game over the weekend, pre-loading is available now.

Once the free period is over, players will find that their progress is carried over to the retail version should they purchase the game to keep. In addition, the full game is currently discounted with 67% off.

Just by simply playing, you can unlock the Ezio Gear Set, allowing you to run across the rooftops of Greece as Ezio Auditore da Firenze. Of course, to unlock it, you’ll need to make sure it’s available from your Ubisoft Club area that you can access from your desktop or mobile device through the app.

Set in the lands of Ancient Greece, players take control of one of two protagonists who trawl their way through a storyline that has the capabilities of being changed through the player’s choices. There’s also a photo mode for those who enjoy snapping pretty pictures, and there’s an educational mode that eliminates combat and allows players to learn about the history of Ancient Greece.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey will be free to play on Xbox One, PS4, and PC. If you want to know what we thought about the game you can check out our review.
