Today, independent Polish developer Madmind Studios — a team comprised of ex CD Projekt and Ubisoft devs — released a foursome of screenshots of its upcoming first-person psychological survival horror game, Agony.

As with the game’s previous trailers, the screenshots showcase a hellish world populated by hellish, terrifying creatures.

For those that don’t know: Agony sees players playing as tormented soul within the depths of hell without any memories about his’ (the soul) past. This soul notably has the special ability of taking control of people and simple minded demons, a handy perk that will be vital to survive the tormenting world ahead.

Along the way you will encounter and interact with other weary souls of the hellscape, and learn that in order to escape the hellscape, you will need to the meet the mystical “Red Goddess” herself.

As for the game’s story, it will be additionally flushed out with in-game items such as hidden notes, paintings, and letters.

Agony first appeared via Kickstarter in 2016, where it raised over $182,000 USD (almost triple its goal). It is in development for PS4, Xbox One, and PC, poised to hit sometime later this year.

Below, you find the new screenshots, as well as the game’s latest gameplay trailer (nudity ahead):
