Alice in Dissonance revealed through a rather humorous trailer that a new update is available for their adventure visual novel fault – milestone one, available now on PC-via Steam and coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita.

Originally released in 2012, this update has a handful of improvements that players would expect to find in visual novels released in 2018. One of which is the screen size which was originally set to 1280 x 720, a size that six years ago might have been common, but now would look rather small on modern hardware.

Furthermore, the update includes UI improvements to the menus, which adds text boxes and a new layer of organization. Also, the team added new artwork for the CG scenes that don’t seem to affect the tone of the scene. Instead, the characters just seem more defined and expressive. Lastly, the game comes with complete 4k assets, which will allow the characters and artwork to look better on modern resolutions settings.

fault – milestone one is the first episode of the visual novel fault series. The game follows Selphine and her Royal Guard Ritona. While attempting to make an escape from an assault against their homeland of Rughzenhaide, the two teleport to the other side of the planet. The two must then figure out a way to get back home.
