Activision to Open New Infinity Ward Studio in Poland

Besides the departure of two of the studio’s heads and the merging of Neversoft, developer Infinity Ward has largely remained the same over the past few years. That, however, is all going to change — Activision has revealed that a brand new expansion to the studio will be opening in Poland, which will be simply titled Infinity Ward Poland.

According to the announcement, Infinity Ward Poland is set to work closely with the main studio in Los Angeles, so we more than likely won’t see any full Call of Duty games solely come out of the European-based studio any time in the near future. Infinity Ward’s current Principal Rendering Engineer Michal Drobot is set to lead the Poland team.

As of the time of this writing, no other details about the studio has been revealed, including when the studio will begin operations, and how many developers they will employ.

While speaking about the announcement of Poland expansion, Dave Stohl, the studio head for the primary studio, had this to say:

“We’re thrilled to announce the expansion of our development capabilities with the opening of Infinity Ward Poland. We’re building a world-class R&D studio that will tap into the creative local game development culture and talent in Poland. This expansion will further solidify our position as one of the most dedicated and accomplished teams in the industry. We look forward to great things to come.”

Infinity Ward’s latest title, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare was released on November 4, 2016, and is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. If all goes according to tradition, the studio is set to produce 2019’s Call of Duty game.
