Animal Crossing: New Horizons celebrated its one-year anniversary this month with the 1.9.0 update and the promise of a new currency: Nook Points.
While they aren’t officially in the game just yet, we seem to know a lot about the upcoming additional currency.

How to get Nook Points
Getting the newest currency in ACNH is relatively simple. All you’ll need in order to redeem them is the Nintendo Online app on your phone. Once you’ve downloaded and opened the app, you’ll click on the ACNH logo towards the bottom of the screen. Once there look a the “apps” inside the Nookphone and click on “Nook Points.” From there, you should be able to click “get my points” and redeem them for the day. Similar to Nook Miles, you can get the points every single day just for logging on.
How to spend Nook Points
In the same place where you redeemed the points on the app, you’ll see an icon reading “redeem for items.” Click on that and you should find a menu full of redeemable in-game items. While only one item has been officially confirmed, the Nook Inc. Poster, according to Animal Crossing world, data miners were able to determine that photos of Isabelle, Tommy and Timmy, and Tom Nook himself will be available for purchase.
When will Nook Points be Introduced?
Right now, there’s no official date when ACNH will add the new currency. The Animal Crossing Twitter account cited “late March” as when it will be introduced, which could be any day now.
