Developer Sobaka Studio and publisher Buka Entertainment originally had two titles slated for release this year – Redeemer: Enhanced Edition and 9 Monkey of Shaolin. Ahead of their appearance at Gamescom, new trailers were released for both the aforementioned titles. Unfortunately, we also learned that both titles have been noticeably delayed from their original launch window.

Redeemer: Enhanced Edition was originally poised to hit Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox One sometime this month, but has since been delayed and received a vague “fall 2018” release window. Meanwhile, 9 Monkeys of Shaolin was pushed back significantly. It was supposed to drop this fall, but will now hit PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch in  Winter 2019. As for the reasoning behind these delays, Buka Entertainment cited that the developer needed more time “to meet their ambitions.”

For those of who haven’t heard about either game, both Redeemer: Enhanced Edition and 9 Monkeys of Shaolin are intense brawler/beat ’em up games. Redeemer: Enhanced Edition is a console port of a 2017 PC game that focuses on brutal and difficult combat, encouraging players to take advantages of the various combos, parries, and disarming options available to them.

On the other hand, 9 Monkeys of Shaolin takes a somewhat similar approach, though things are a little less bloody and take place in Medieval China, with a lone fisherman trying to avenge his family. Players also have some unique magical powers at their disposal that change how the game is played.

You can check out the Gamescom trailers for both titles below. Redeemer: Enhanced Edition will hit Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox One this fall, while 9 Monkeys of Shaolin is poised to release for PC and the aforementioned consoles in Winter 2019.
