The Quintessential Quintuplets is known as 5Toubun no Hanayome in Japan (the first word is pronounced Gotoubun). The story features a poor high school student who ends up tutoring the Nakano daughters, the five quintuplets of a rich family. The manga is written and illustrated by Negi Haruba. Gotoubun was the first time Haruba had a serialized manga where he handled both roles, and he hit the jackpot. The Quintessential Quintuplets is one of the most popular love comedy and harem manga of the last ten years. As of December 2020, the number of volumes of the manga in circulation exceeded 14 million copies. The manga also won the 43rd Kodansha Manga Award in 2019 for Shounen Manga category. And the anime adaptation made it popular worldwide.
The game’s genre is described as an ADV, meaning it’ll be what we call visual novels outside Japan. In particular, the game is a Galge, visual novels focused on romancing girls. The game features an original story, set on an uninhabited island where the protagonist Futaro Uesugi (voiced by Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, Kirito in SAO) and the Nakano quintuplets are stranded for two weeks. While’s it not officially confirmed yet, the game will definitely have at least five endings, one for each quintuplet.
