Forager is a 2D open-world game that combines elements from games like The Legend of Zelda, Stardew Valley, and Terraria. The game has been a success on PC and developers HopFrog have been listening to player’s feedback. With that in mind, the team has released a new post-launch content roadmap that gives us a clearer picture of where the game is going.

Forager is already full of things to craft, enemies to fight, places to see, and resources to gather. These four updates should only improve the player experience, while adding some really cool features. The first up is the May update, which seems focused on quality of life changes. This includes things like better inventory sorting and improved save backups. It will also introduce new game modes and weather effects.

Later in the summer, the team is looking to improve combat, something many players have requested. They will also add a new biome and give the game a “hard” mode. The fall update will give players a chance to create custom mods for the game. This could really open the game up on PC. Players will be able to create their own biomes, items and structures.

The final update is coming in the winter and will give the game a multi-player mode. That’s something that really increased the replayability for games like Stardew Valley, so it’s cool to see here. They’re also adding new lands and items, which should help increase the game length for players who are looking for more out of Forager.

Forager is out now on PC and is coming to Mac, Nintendo Switch, and PS4 at a later date.
