It seems Epic Games could have landed a rather big new name recently if a new report is to be believed.

According to The Game Awards creator Geoff Keighley, Epic has recently hired Jason West, a former co-founder of both Infinity Ward and Respawn Entertainment. West previously served as CTO of Infinity Ward before later founding Respawn with Vince Zampella after Activision fired the two.

West reportedly hasn’t worked in the gaming industry since roughly 2013 when he left Respawn to focus on his family. If this report is to be believed, Keighley says that West will now work with Epic in the pursuit of developing new games. Keighley also says that West has been working at the company for roughly one month at this point.

While we haven’t heard directly from Epic Games about this matter (and we might not for some time) the thought of West now working with the company is an interesting one. Even though Epic is currently known for the mega-hit Fortnite, they’ll surely continue to make more titles in the future, especially with how much revenue Fortnite has brought in for the company. With West potentially heading up new projects for the company considering his past work, there could be some exciting new things from Epic in the pipeline.
