Earlier this week, dataminers found hints within the code of Diablo III: Eternal Collection for Nintendo Switch about possible Diablo-themed amiibo based on a Treasure Goblin and a Demon. Today marks the start of BlizzCon and the launch of Diablo III: Eternal Collection, so Blizzard was finally able to reveal that a Treasure Goblin amiibo is on its way.

The Loot Goblin seems a bit shorter and stockier than the typical amiibo, helping it stand out from the crowd. The amiibo is a bit more expensive than usual at $15.99 though, and currently is GameStop exclusive. The amiibo is poised to hit store shelves sometime in December. A date was not given, though we do know several Super Smash Bros. Ultimate amiibo are already releasing on December 7.

Details about what exactly the Loot Goblin amiibo does are also scarce. The official announcement didn’t yield much more information than the initial leak, with Blizzard only stating that it would allow you to “summon your own portal to untold riches.” We also don’t know if the Loot Goblin amiibo will have functionality in any other Nintendo Switch titles.

Hopefully, we’ll learn more about the Loot Goblin amiibo this weekend at BlizzCon and possibly get the Demon amiibo confirmed as well. The existence of the Loot Goblin amiibo gives this week’s leak credibility, so it’s likely that another Diablo-themed one is coming down the line, even if doesn’t release in December alongside the Loot Goblin.

Diablo III: Eternal Collection is now available for Nintendo Switch and can be picked up on Amazon, though the base game is also on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
