Ever since the game’s Battle Royale mode was released, Fortnite has had a bit of a tradition of randomly adding small features and hints to the map before the next content season starts, and today is no different. At a random point today, the in-game map updated once again and it added something completely out of left field, even for Fortnite standards.
At the peak of a mountain in Paradise Palms, located at the bottom right-hand corner of the map, a giant, purple block has appeared from a lightning bolt in the sky. Not much is known about the block, but if you try and shoot at it or cause any type of damage to it, it’ll shoot a bolt of electricity at you, knock you back or up for miles. You can check out two images of the block in a gallery at the end of the article.
In other Fortnite news, yesterday Epic Games added a brand new mode to the game and a Rift-to-Go item which allows you to automatically teleport into the air.
Fortnite is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Windows PC, and Nintendo Switch, as well as iOS and Android devices.
