Today’s issue of Weekly Famitsu included the first screenshots of the upcoming PS4 remaster of Yakuza 3.

We also learn that the gameplay is mostly unchanged from the original PS3 version of the game, but it will run in 1080p resolution, and 60 frames per second.

For those unfamiliar with Yakuza 3, it was released in Japan in 2009, and in the west in 2010. It was the second game of the series that brought Kazuma Kiryu to another location in addition to Kamurocho, letting the player visit the exotic island of Okinawa.

This new version will also come at a cheaper price than the original, and it’ll cost 3,990 yen plus taxes, launching in Japan on August 9th. It will even include a download code for the original soundtrack.

Yakuza 4 will also come in the fall, followed by Yakuza 5 in the spring of 2019.

Of course, at the moment we don’t know whether it’ll release in the west, as the North American and European arms of Sega are still silent about a possible localization. That being said, the game is already translated, so it’d be weird if we did not get it at some point.
