If you were looking for something to play this summer, Steam has some excellent news for you. Starting today and running through July 9, the Steam Summer Sale is full of great games at a steep discount. Listing all the games on sale here would be nearly impossible, but rest assured there are some excellent options if you don’t know what to play next.
Some of the games featured in the sale include Borderlands 3, Terraria, Doom Eternal, and Red Dead Redemption 2. Of course, those four games are just the tip of the iceberg. As always, if you can’t find something to play in this sale, I would be very surprised. You’ll also get a nice, $5 discount for spending more than $30.
It’s worth pointing out that Half-Life: Alyx is also currently on sale. If you have a VR headset capable of playing that game, you should probably give it a look. Our reviewer absolutely loved it, and they were far from the only person to feel that way.
Outside of the games, Steam is also providing players with some new ways to customize their profile and chat. For every dollar you spend during the sale, you’ll gain 100 points. You can then head over to the point shop and buy special avatars, backgrounds, and emotes.
It’s not something I’m overly interested in but is a nice little extra. The point store also won’t go away, meaning you can save those points for later if you want to.
