Earlier this year at EVO Japan 2018, SNK revealed that they would be releasing The King of Fighters ’97 Global Match on both PS4 and PS Vita sometime this year. Today, the developers took to PlayStation Blog to reveal that the SNK classic would be releasing on those aforementioned platforms tomorrow, April 3.

This port will cost players $14.99, and was developed in tandem with Code Mystics, who have worked on bringing previous SNK fighting games like Samurai Shodown V over to modern platforms. As a result, this version of The King of Fighters ’97 Global Match will include many of their standard improvements, including fully functional online multiplayer, a Gallery Mode, and customizable menu background music.

The PlayStation Blog post also includes a short interview with original developers Yasuyuki Oda and Hideaki Asanaka about the initial development of The King of Fighters ’97, giving us some never-before seen insight about what was going on at SNK at the time.

You can check out some screenshots of the game below. The King of Fighters ’97 Global Match is poised to arrive on both PS4 and PS Vita on April 3.
