It’s almost been a full year since the Shin Megami Tensei series was revealed for Nintendo Switch, and since then we’ve only heard the occasional drop of news. That changes today: developer Atlus has confirmed that Shin Megami Tensei V will be coming West for Nintendo Switch.

For many, that guess was a foregone conclusion. While every teaser we have seen in the past — including a mirror version of the newly-revealed trailer below — has been in Japanese, the fact the game was showcased in the United States Nitnendo Direct unveiling the Nintendo Switch was a strong clue that Western audiences would be enjoying the upcoming release.

As for the newly-released trailer, it is an exact copy of the original trailer — just with English print. Quoting our original article on the Japanese video:

First of all, we get to see a rather normal scene, set in the JR (apparently renamed “NR” in the game) area of the Shinagawa station in Tokyo, with two high school students leisurely walking among the crowd. Then the scene cuts to a carnage of demons in an underground tunnel. Lastly, the same two students are attacked by demons in a ruined city, which is identified as being still Tokyo by the presence of the Tokyo Tower in the background, and by the sign for Roppongi and Shinbashi.

Outside of this trailer, a handful of previously-released screenshots, and the fact it will be coming west, little else is known about Shin Megami Tensei V — including when Nintendo Switch owners can expect a launch date. Until that comes, check out the trailer below:
