Just when you thought you were safe from Lady Dimitrescu…

If you have already completed Capcom’s latest instalment into the Resident Evil franchise, you will already know about some of the terror that awaits you within its creepy ‘Village’ walls.

Resident Evil 8 is certainly a game with plenty of jump scares coupled with a thick, tense atmosphere so the idea of this murky and terrifying world being created in a place as wholesome as Animal Crossing: New Horizons just doesn’t seem right at all.

Even so, one dedicated ACNH player decided to recreate their homely and tranquil island into a homage to the ghastly locations found within Resident Evil Village. It actually does look really cool.

The “RE8” island is crafted by Reddit user u/masabow1018 to which they replaced all the home comforts and relaxation associated with Animal Crossing and flipped the coin so it resembles places like Castle Dimitrescu, Heisenberg’s factory, and the altar of Mother Miranda.

Unfortunately, I haven’t had the pleasure of taking a trip to this particular island but according to Games Radar, players can visit the slimy reservoir belonging to Moreau and also an area dedicated to Donna Beneviento that includes a collection of dolls – minus the gigantic, crying, open-mouthed baby monster *shivers*

If you were hoping to find Lady Dimitrescu on your wanderings around the island, you’re in luck. Apparently, Lady D can be found walking around where players can also have a chat with her. Unfortunately, there will be no chasing or standing on you in this version.

You can also check out a house on the island that is modelled after Castle Dimitrescu, designed in the same old-fashioned style as it was in the game. Thankfully, you won’t have to worry about the three “daughters” popping up in any of the corridors.

Resident Evil Village is now available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC. You can also check out our review right here.
