A little over two years after the release of Rainbow Six Siege, Ubisoft has announced that the multiplayer shooter has now surpassed 25 million lifetime players across all platforms.

After not selling too well out of the gate, Rainbow Six Siege has slowly built up one of the most consistent, committed, and impressive multiplayer communities in gaming. Reaching this landmark number of players is something that very few games accomplish and is even more staggering to see done in a mere two years.

Alexandre Remy, Brand Director of Rainbow Six Siege, spoke about the achievement of reaching 25 million players and thanked those who have long been apart of the game’s community.

Player investment has been core to the success of the game with longevity being always very important to us. As the game progressed, we continued to develop it with the community in mind. We’re thrilled to see that the community has embraced the game, brought along their friends, and really pushed our understanding of what’s possible with what we’ve created.

This announcement just happens to also coincide with the release of Rainbow Six Siege’s newest expansion, Operation White Noise, which is now available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

This add-on includes the new Mok Myeok Tower map which takes place in South Korea while also introducing  three new Operators: Dokkaebi, Vigil, and Zofia each of whom carry signature weapons. Like normal, those who have the Year 2 Season Pass will be able to access these Operators right away while other players will need to wait until next week on December 12.
