For fans of classic and modern third-person overhead action-adventure titles, a new game known as Aethyr has launched on Kickstarter. You can check out the first teaser trailer for Aethyr down below.
You play Aethyr as an adventurer who washes ashore during a grim period of time after humanities downfall. Players will be tasked with developing a badass hero who’ll have access to a whole bunch of weapons, magic, and skills.
You’ll have the ability to really dictate whatever direction your character goes in as powerful spells, stealth-focused weapons, and more are all at your disposal. Additionally, there’ll be a crafting system included in the game as well as the ability to allocate your experience to different stats.
The world of Aethyr is wide and open for you to explore, as the game’s kingdoms are linked together through a magical network. All these kingdoms will include dungeons and temples for players to conquer. Storywise, the game is told in a non-linear way, leaving it up to the player to explore the world and discover all that it has to offer.
Combat will not be randomized, focusing more on the skill of each individual character. Aethyr relies on your ability to control your character and utilize each and every one of their abilities during intense battles.
Interestingly, the game has been created with mods in mind, meaning players will not only be able to create new things in the game but also new games themselves entirely.
