In Judgment, there’s a new protagonist walking through the streets of Kamurocho. The new game from SEGA is a spin-off of the wildly popular Yakuza series. Judgment follows a lawyer turned private investigator as he seeks to solve the mysteries of the city. In the new trailer below, SEGA goes behind the scenes and gives viewers a look at how Greg Chun brought Yagami to life for the English dub.

This is Chun’s biggest role to date. He’s previously done some work in games like Nier: Automata, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (Ike), and Tacoma, but Judgment will be his first true lead role. In fact, Chun called his work on Judgment “the pinnacle of (his) career until now”.

The video doesn’t give a ton of new insight into the actual game, but this is some interesting footage. Chun talks about how “real” Yagami is, saying that it was easy for him to connect to the character and put a lot of himself into it. Chun even called the experience “therapeutic”.

He also spoke to how difficult it is to keep his line-reading fresh through each take. This is the first time he’s played a role so prominent in the story. Thus, making sure that he focuses on each delivery is very important. After all, his voice is the one players will be hearing the most, making his work incredibly important.

Fortunately, you don’t have to wait long to see the fruits of Chun and the rest of the team’s labor. Even though they had to completely remove one of the other actors, Judgment is still coming out on June 25 on PS4.
