Today Square Enix made an announcement via press release about the opening theme song of the upcoming JRPG Kingdom Hearts III.

The song is titled “Face My Fears” and is a collaboration between iconic Japanese singer Hikaru Utada and American DJ Sonny John “Skrillex” Moore.

The song itself will be released as a single on January 18th, 2019 in both English and Japanese versions alongside the ending song Don’t Think Twice (titled Oath in Japan). This is just a few days before the game’s release in Japan on January 25th, and in the west on January 29th.

Apparently, Skrillex has been a fan of the series for a long time, and he originally asked to remix Don’t think twice. However this has since evolved into a new full-fledged collaboration.

We also learn that Poo Bear will act as the Producer for the song.

If you want to see more about the game, you can also enjoy some screenshots from yesterday, recent gameplay, and the latest trailer released a few days ago.

The game will release for PS4 and Xbox One. In case you didn’t pre-order your copy yet, you can do so right now on Amazon.

Incidentally, the Kingdom Hearts III just won our Tokyo Game Show 2018 award for best RPG.
