Human: Fall Flat, a purposefully hard-to-control physics-based puzzle game, was released by one-man developer No Brakes Games back in July of 2016. While I was not too fond of the game at launch, it has had a steadily growing fan base since then, especially on YouTube and Twitch, and has been released on PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. Today, No Brakes Games revealed that the title has surpassed 2 million copies sold since launch, an impressive feat for an indie game made by one man.

According to the game’s developer, Human: Fall Flat was one of the most played games on Steam in 2017 and has done well on all the consoles it has been ported to. To celebrate these sales numbers, the game’s price is currently at a 50% discount on Steam and will be receiving two new skins based on a dog and Caishen, who is the god of wealth in China.

Tomas Sakalauskas, the sole developer that makes up No Brakes Games, had the following to say about the game’s sales achievement:

Human: Fall Flat’s journey has been, at times, confounding but never less than welcome. The idea that the game started out as a solo-development endeavour and now incorporates over two million players worldwide is amazing. I’ve always tried to listen to the fans and bring their ideas into the game where feasible and where it chimed with my original vision. Bob, I suspect, is similarly bowled over.”

Meanwhile, Jason Perkins, Managing Director at publisher Curve Digital, also commented on the game’s sales performance:

“We’re thrilled for Tomas, everyone at Curve and the now millions of players worldwide enjoying the wonky, physics-based fun. Tomas has achieved success through exceptional hard work and by listening to the game’s community. It shows the potential of iterative design and how a strong voice can resonate with players in a crowded marketplace.”

Human: Fall Flat is currently available on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
