Were you looking to get a good weeping next week? Specifically on November 26, 2019? Well, it is time to mark your cry calendar because the Gris PS4 version is coming to the PlayStation Store next Tuesday.

While Nomada Studio’s narrative-driven platformer is beautiful on its current platforms, the PS4 version may be one of the most optimal ways to play Gris, especially if you are a console player. In a PlayStation Blog post by Nomada Studio programmer Roger Mendoza, he stated that the artists and designers have updated the game’s assets to take advantage of the PlayStation 4 Pro’s hardware with 2x-4x higher resolution. Additionally, Gris‘ score will have less compression for a much cleaner sound.

The game will include some quality of life improvements, as well as a PlayStation exclusive secret homage to one of the studio’s favorite games and inspirations. For newcomers, the PS4 version of Gris seems like a solid place to begin this wild journey. With the aforementioned changes, this may be a good time to revisit the game as well.

Mendoza also shared the studio’s excitement with sharing a platform with thatgamecompany’s critically lauded game Journey. “On a more personal note, we would like to take a moment to express what an honor it is to even share a platform with thatgamecompany’s Journey, a game that not only did we love when we played it on PlayStation 4, but that has also become a great inspiration during these last few years,” says Mendoza. “We hope that players find a similar level of emotional engagement with Gris and see how the iconic Journey influenced the design and feeling of Gris.

As mentioned, Gris will be available on the PlayStation Store on November 26. A physical PS4 version is now available on the Limited Run Games store. If you want to see what we thought of the game, you can check out our review.
