When is Paimon’s birthday in Genshin Impact? Twitter account explained

First off, there’s a whole story you need to know behind Paimon’s birthday. When Genshin Impact first launched on September 28, 2020, a Japanese Twitter account specifically for Paimon was launched: @paimon_genshin7. Most fans, especially the community outside Japan, don’t even know this account exists, since no English version was started.

This account lists Paimon’s birthday as June 1, and as far as I know is one of the few places where her birthday was listed officially. As you can easily check the birthday of any other playable character in-game, but not for Paimon.

Soon after clocks hit midnight June 1 JST, the account shared a new profile picture, with Paimon and a birthday cake. Several Japanese fans started sharing congratulations messages and fanart as well. “Paimon” started trending in Japanese, and fans are sharing their works through the #パイモン生誕祭2021 hashtag.

Now, the official Genshin Impact accounts have shared a special artwork for Paimon and her birthday as well.

Paimon birthday – Twitter campaign

miHoYo is holding a special Twitter campaign for Paimon’s birthday. As explained on HoYoLab, you need to take a screenshot of the gif roulette above, and tweet it with your happy birthday message with the hashtag #パイモン誕生日. You can also post your screenshot and message on the HoYoLab page’s comments. Winners will be contacted through Twitter DM and get Paimon goods and merch.

The catch is that the Campaign is only happening in Japan. Unless you know someone in Japan to receive the goods for you, you won’t be able to win anything.

The goods in the prize list are Paimon stands and badges:

Paimon age – How old is Paimon in Genshin Impact?

No one really knows, and miHoYo never gave out an answer, be it in-game or through interviews. However, seeing her supernatural nature, it’s very likely Paimon will turn out to be thousands of years or something. Many fans also believe Paimon will end up being an antagonist, separating from the Traveler. But this seems so obvious I personally don’t believe miHoYo will go that route.

Genshin Impact will be launching its Version 1.6, Midsummer Island Adventure, on June 9 (June 8 late night ET). The update adds new five star Anemo and Sword character Kazuha, coming after a rerun of the Klee banner. The game’s Costume system will be implemented as well, with swimsuits for Jean and Barbara.
