Fortnite is Now the Most Watched Game on Twitch

Fortnite seems to be unstoppable and its dominance has now taken over the most-watched viewership spot on the streaming platform Twitch.

Over the past two weeks, Fortnite has surpassed League of Legends as the most viewed game on Twitch. Over that span, Fortnite streams have collectively been watched for 5,014 years, 110 days compared to the second place finisher League of Legends which accumulated 4,538 years, 26 days of watch time. To stress why this is important, League of Legends almost never cedes its top spot on Twitch so for it to drop to second place over any span of time, especially two weeks, is pretty impressive on Fortnite’s behalf.

When comparing Fortnite to PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, its closest competition in terms of genre, the viewership is nearly doubled. Regardless of your preference when it comes to either title, there’s no denying the sheer explosion of popularity from Fortnite over the past few months.

A lot of Fortnite’s success these past two weeks is likely in part to the release of one of the game’s most recent updates which drastically changed many elements of both the Battle Royale and Save the World game modes. Update or not though, Fortnite doesn’t show signs of slowing down anytime soon and still has plenty of potential to get even bigger. If you still somehow haven’t experienced it for yourself, you can check it out on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
