Dragon Age is Coming Back With a New Comic from Dark Horse

Culture, News, Originals, PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One

The Dragon Age series has not seen a new game since Dragon Age: Inquisition in 2014, though a fourth title in the series is in the works at Bioware after the original attempt at it was canceled. We still don’t know much about that new Dragon Age, though one of its Lead Producers recently left BioWare. If you are looking for something to satiate your Dragon Age hunger during the wait for the next mainline entry, you may be interested in Dragon Age: Blue Wraith from Dark Horse.

This three-issue limited series was unveiled just ahead of New York Comic-Con, and we know the first issue is set to arrive on January 15, 2020. Dragon Age: Blue Wraith is being written by Nunzio DeFilippis, who you may know for their work on New X-Men and Dragon Age: Knight Errant, as well as Christina Weir, who has worked on Dragon Age: Deception and New X-Men. Meanwhile, God is Dead’s Fernando Heinz Furukawa will be Dragon Age: Blue Wraith’s artist, with Michael Atiyeh and Sachin Teng contributing as the colorist and cover artist, respectively.

Dragon Age: Inquisition fans should also be excited about this new comic series as it directly follows up that game and prominently features Fenris. The comic’s official description reads “Dragon Age: Blue Wraith starts off with the fanatical Qunari seeking to topple the Tevinter mageocracy. Caught in the middle, one powerful young mage’s desperate search for her father brings her face-to-face with a notorious mage hunter—Fenris, the Blue Wraith.”

Though it remains to be seen how much Dragon Age: Inquisition, or even this comic, will tie into the next Dragon Age game, it does seem to be a cool new piece of media for fans of the franchise to sink their teeth into while we wait for the next game to be unveiled and released. Dragon Age: Blue Wraith begins on January 15, 2020, and Dark Horse says it should already be available for pre-order at comic book shops.
