After what’s felt like an eternity, we now know that Hideo Kojima’s long-awaited Death Stranding doesn’t just have a release date, but that the game will be coming far sooner than any of us ever could have expected in November 2019. Following today’s release of the English version of the trailer, the Japanese version that has just arrived includes a few extra scenes we didn’t see the first time around.

Developer Kojima Productions has released the Japanese version of today’s 9+ minute-long trailer for Death Stranding, and while the majority of the trailer is the same as what we saw earlier today, there are actually a few notable differences and entirely new scenes.

Specifically, most of the new footage that wasn’t in the English trailer starts at around the 6:05 mark after the character/cast introductions. The first segment features Norman Reedus’ character, Sam, fighting off a particularly nasty-looking Beached Thing in the forest, and might hint at an encounter that could be a boss fight of some sort.

Likewise, after that sequence we also get to see a bit more of Lindsay Wagner’s character, who seems to be almost apprehended by Troy Baker’s character and wearing an ominous golden mask. The other notable change from the original English version is that the trailer features an alternate take on the track “Apocalyptica” with full vocals, alongside giving us a listen to the game’s Japanese VO cast.

Death Stranding will be coming exclusively to PS4 on November 8, 2019. If you have yet to pre-order the game, you can do that right now over on Amazon. For a closer look at the game itself, you can check out the full Japanese trailer below, and check out some new screenshots and character posters:
