UPDATE: Just a couple minutes after posting this story, the Control twitter account posted the following tweet:

So, it appears the game won’t be coming to Xbox Game Pass any time soon.

Have you been wanting to play Remedy Entertainment’s newest hit, Control, but have yet to pick it up. Well, don’t fret. It seems the studio’s trippy adventure will be coming to Xbox Game Pass.

During an Extra Life stream (thanks Wario64), Head of Xbox Phil Spencer sat down with Director of Player Voice at 343 Industries, Justin Robey, and Producer at Mixer, Ethan Rothumel, to play the newest addition to the Halo: Master Chief Collection, Halo Reach. During the stream, the three started discussing Xbox Game Pass where Spencer outed that Control will be coming to the service.

“I thought Control was really good,” says Spencer. “It didn’t reach enough people so I’m glad to see that it’s coming into Game Pass, so hopefully more people will play it.”

This seems to be something that accidentally slipped as Control‘s inclusion in the Xbox Game Pass lineup has yet to be announced. Remedy Entertainment’s newest game has been praised as one of the best games of the year, garnering a few nominations at this year’s Game Awards. You can check out our review where our reviewer Logan Moore said, “If you have enjoyed past games from Remedy, you’ll certainly find further enjoyment here with Control.”

The addition of Control does add a lot of value to the Xbox Game Pass. When it will be coming to the service is still unknown. The latest Xbox Game Pass additions have been announced, which includes titles such as My Friend PedroWandersongOvercooked! 2, and Tom Clancy’s The Division.

In other Xbox related news, it seems two of Sega’s best action games may be returning next year. A listing on the Microsoft Store suggests that remastered versions of Bayonetta and Vanquish will be packaged together and released on February 18, 2020. Sega has not made an official announcement about the bundle just yet.
