Criterion Games’ action-packed racing title Burnout Paradise originally launched in 2008. Burnout Paradise Remastered was then announced in 2018 and saw the game come to PC, Xbox One, and PS4 and also saw us review the title. Now, Burnout Paradise is heading to the Nintendo Switch, but according to an eShop image, it’ll be releasing soon and for a hefty price.
At current, EA’s eShop page for Burnout Paradise Remastered states that the title will be launching on the Switch sometime in 2020. However, Wario64 on Twitter noticed the US eShop page on the console itself lists the date. I’ve visited the US eShop store with my Switch and can confirm that the date listed is estimated for June 19, 2020. Additionally, the price for a game that’s over 10 years old sits at $49.99.

The game’s debut to the Nintendo Switch will find players exploring an open-world and enjoying smashing things with the damage mechanics. It’ll come with the base game as well as 8 main DLC packs. There are over 130 vehicles to drive around and some new areas to explore.
The game also has online play capabilities which will require a Nintendo Switch Online account but will allow players to not only play online with strangers and friends but take part in online-exclusive challenges. The description states that Burnout Paradise Remastered runs on the Nintendo Switch at 60FPS and includes touchscreen elements with the map control, allowing players to pinch to zoom in and out of the map. I also imagine that the news we saw back in 2018 about the remastered version not containing microtransactions will remain the same.
Burnout Paradise Remastered also looks like it’ll take up around 3.9GB. EA has announced yesterday that Crysis Remastered is heading to the Switch, so it’ll be interesting to see the file size comparisons between the two games. That’s just my inner nerd talking though.
