Bubsy’s post-revival games keep finding ways to elude Nintendo systems. The highly anticipated (no, just me?) Bubsy: Paws on Fire! was poised to launch for PC, PS4, and Nintendo Switch on May 16, 2019. Just a week before its intended release date, Accolade and Choice Provisions have made the decision to delay the Nintendo Switch version of Bubsy: Paws on Fire!
As this was the version of Bubsy: Paws on Fire! many were looking forward to, this is an unfortunate delay. Fortunately, everything seems on track for the PC and PS4 versions to release smoothly on May 16. Thank God. Choice Provisions Co-Founder Mike Roush explained the delay by saying “the Switch version of Bubsy: Paws on Fire! is in great shape, we’re in the final push on some non-gameplay aspects on Switch.” I bet Bubsy 3D is jealous.
If this is the first truly “good” Bubsy game like the developers are saying, it will hopefully be worth the wait. The game’s Amazon Page has listed June 27, 2019 as the release date for over a week now (thanks Bubsy Discord!). While the developers haven’t outright confirmed that date, June 27 is a Thursday so it would make sense for the game to arrive then. Either way, the final decision is in Bubsy’s hands. What could possibly go wrong?!
Bubsy: Paws on Fire! is set to launch for PC and PS4 and change to gaming ecosystem as we know it on May 16, 2019. Nintendo Switch players, Bubsy will be seeing you this Summer.
