Rumors have been circulating for quite awhile now about what Bluepoint Games, the studio behind remasters such as Shadow of the Colossus, could be working on next. Bluepoint has previously confirmed that it’s working on a game that will release on the PS5 and now, the developer has further stated that it seems quite excited about this forthcoming title.

Speaking to SegmentNext, president of Bluepoint Marco Thrush said that currently, the company is most proud of its work that has been done on Shadow of the Colossus. That said, the project that the developer is currently working on for PS5 will end up replacing it as the studio’s proudest game to date.

“We [Bluepoint Games] originally remastered Shadow of the Colossus for the PS3 and then remade it for the PS4. It’s the only one we’ve touched twice and to date it is our greatest achievement, so it’s easy to say that is our personal favorite,” Thrush said. “However, there’s no question in our minds that our current project will become the achievement we’re most proud of.”

Thrush couldn’t any more details about what this upcoming game might be, only saying that an announcement will be made about it whenever Sony deems that it is time. Many fans have speculated previously that this project will end up being a remaster/remake of FromSoftware’s Demon’s Souls, but that obviously hasn’t been confirmed in any way just yet.

I’m personally hoping that we’ll hear more about this mysterious Bluepoint game next week during The Game Awards, but considering it’s a PS5 game, that seems unlikely. Perhaps when Sony opts to formally reveal the PS5 to the general public, we’ll end up finally learning just what this game is.
