Outriders features both single and multiplayer gameplay. Meaning, you can enjoy the game solo or explore everything with two other players. In the game, players have to choose between three different classes, i.e., Trickster, Pyromancer, and Technomancer. If you liked playing Left 4 Dead titles, you’ll absolutely love Back 4 Blood. After a recent delay, the zombie survival game is scheduled to release on October 12, 2021, across multiple platforms.
The game is developed by Turtle Rock Studios and published under Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. Interestingly, Back 4 Blood features a 4 player co-op mode and 8 player PvP multiplayer mode.

3. Halo Infinite
Xbox Game Studios’ Halo Infinite is the sixth main entry in the Halo series scheduled to release in late 2021. There is no official release date for the game, but recent rumours suggest a November 2021 release window.
Halo Infinite will follow the story of Master Chief, who now has to go against the mercenary group named, “Banished”. Of course, the game will feature an incredible multiplayer mode, which will be completely free-to-play.

4. CrossfireX
Crossfire is already a popular free-to-play FPS game that is only available for PC. And the upcoming CrossfireX is basically the console version of the game that will release exclusively for Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
The game will release in late 2021 and will feature both single-player and multiplayer modes. Remedy Entertainment is working on the single-player campaign, whereas Smilegate Entertainment is looking over the free-to-play multiplayer game mode.
The multiplayer mode will be similar to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Valorant, and Rogue Company. Every game mode will divide players into two factions who will fight for a similar objective.

5. Deathloop
Arkane Studios’ Deathloop is definitely one of the unique upcoming multiplayer games for 2021.
In the game, you’ll play as Colt, who is stuck in a death time-loop. To exit the loop, Colt has to assassinate eight targets on the island. However, each time Colt dies, he returns exactly where he started his journey.
While trying to eliminate his targets, Colt has to worry about another assassin, Julianna, who wants to put him down. Now, this is where the multiplayer aspect jumps in. Apparently, players can turn on the multiplayer that would allow another online player to take on the role of Julianna.
In short, an actual player would impact how you complete the game’s story campaign. You could say that Deathloop very smartly combines the story campaign with multiplayer gameplay.

6. Battlefield 6
EA confirmed that the sixth main edition in the Battlefield series, Battlefield 6, would release during Holiday 2021.
According to recent rumors, Battlefield 6 will feature a massive Warzone like battle royale. Along with that, there are speculations that the game will have a battle pass and progression system. However, none of these leaks were confirmed, so it’s hard to put a pin on these features just yet. Also, if Battlefield 6 does feature a battle royale mode, it’s still unknown if the multiplayer mode will be free-to-play or not.
Anyway, considering the mammoth player base of existing Battlefield games, it’s safe to say that Battlefield 6(A rumored title) is one of the most eagerly awaited games for 2021.

7. Rainbow Six Quarantine
Ubisoft wanted to release the much-awaited Rainbow Six Siege spinoff in 2020. However, the studio delayed the launch because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Now, while the game is set to release in 2021, it has no set date.
Interestingly, R6 Quarantine is a strong competitor of Back 4 Blood when it comes to the upcoming multiplayer games. That’s because both games feature a co-op PvE experience.
In Rainbow Six Quarantine, players will have to fight an alien parasite in co-op gameplay. The upcoming survival FPS title would allow players to team up against an unknown threat. However, it’s unlikely that the game will feature a PvP game mode.
