The Elder Scrolls: Blades Release Delayed to Early 2019

Android, Bethesda Game Studios, Bethesda Softworks, iOS, News, Originals, The Elder Scrolls Blades

When Bethesda first revealed The Elder Scrolls: Blades, the upcoming mobile game set in the Elder Scrolls universe, at E3 this past summer, the intention was to release the game before the end of 2018. Well, that is no longer that case as the game’s release window has now changed.

Announced today via the official Elder Scrolls Twitter account, The Elder Scrolls: Blades is now slated to release in early 2019 on both iOS and Android. Given that we haven’t heard much about the game since Apple’s keynote event back in September, it started to seem likely that this delay might occur, unless a release date would have been announced rather soon.

Given Bethesda’s current situation with Fallout 76 and the negative response surrounding it, I’d have to imagine that most fans won’t be too upset but this delay. At this point, it’s likely better for the publisher to polish up their next release as best as possible before launching it fully, even if it is just a mobile game.

If you can’t wait until the game’s full launch, you can still sign up to play The Elder Scrolls: Blades via Early Access over on the official Blades website.
