The Captain Is Dead is a pretty solid cooperative board game that lets you play out your favorite sci-fi TV show. And now, Thunderbox Entertainment is bringing the experience to the PC. Announced at today’s Gamesradar Future Games Show, the upcoming turn-based adaptation is set to release this year. Watch the new trailer below.

The Captain Is Dead‘s board game version supports up to seven players. It will be interesting to see if the video game version does the same. The game’s Steam page lists several different roles you can hop into. However, it doesn’t say for sure how many players the game supports at once.

Either way, The Captain Is Dead should translate very well to the digital platform. Not only will it be a fun experience in multiplayer but having on PC makes it much easier for solo play. There is a quickly growing audience for that side of the board gaming hobby, so it’s always nice to see developers providing digital versions that make this a much easier undertaking.

Personally, I really love how they’ve translated the art from The Captain Is Dead. Visually, the game has always stood out for me when it’s on the table. It’s great to see that it hasn’t been lost in translation.

The Captain Is Dead is coming to PC later in 2020. If you absolutely can’t wait, you could always pick up the board game. I doubt it’s hard to find at this point. Give it a look, if the trailer above sounds interesting to you.
