Samurai Shodown Introduces Yoshitora in New Trailer

News, Originals, PS4, samurai-shodown, SNK, Xbox One, Yoshitora

Another week, another fighter is introduced to the upcoming SNK fighting game, Samurai Shodown. This time, we see Yoshhitora — who made his debut in Samurai Shodown V —  join the fray along with a new trailer.

An heir to the Tokugawa shogunate, Yoshitora wields seven swords; six of which are named after lovers, with the last named after himself. While he holds this distinguished position, Yoshitora just wants to have a good time. That doesn’t mean he doesn’t know his way around one or seven swords. I mean, he was going to be Shogun.

If you were wondering how this man could hold seven swords at one time, the trailer gives some incite. I don’t know how having that many swords are advantageous, but it sure looks like he’s murdering some people, so it seems to be working for him. From the looks of it, Yoshitora seems to have limited range having to get up close and personal with his opponents. We also see his yellow and red background finishing attacks that look pretty killer. You can check out the trailer below to see for yourself.

Since Samurai Shodown‘s June release was announced, a slew of character trailers have been shown. Some of which include old favorites, like Haohmaru and Genjuro, while others feature new characters, like Darli Dagger.

At PAX East this year, I had a chance to play a few rounds of Samurai Shodown. As I stated in the preview, “its defense-driven combat system and punishing special moves feel unique,” and I “cannot wait to see true competitive play.”

Samurai Shodown will launch for PS4 and Xbox One on June 25. If you purchase the game by June 30, you will receive the Season Pass absolutely free.
