Are you overwhelmed? Loving the recent first-party releases from Nintendo? Do you love that your Switch isn’t getting dusty? Well, get ready because a new Donkey Kong game was recently teased by Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime in an interview with Time.

Fans of Nintendo have likely been neck-deep in games, especially with the recent release of Super Mario Odyssey, and the release of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild earlier this year. And according to Fils-Aime, that feeling of always having a game to play isn’t going to change anytime soon, and we may even see the return of the leader of the DK Crew:

“Whether it’s with a Metroid experience or a Donkey Kong experience, we’re constantly looking to push the envelope on the IP versus doing sequential small iterations with a particular franchise.”

This shouldn’t come as much of a surprise considering the revival and revolution of other famous Nintendo IPs, and the Metroid experience that Fils-Aime mentioned has already received a tease at E3 2017. The Super Mario and Legend of Zelda IPs have both been met with perfect scores by several outlets for their ability to take an incredible character, but also for their ability to reinvent their ability to explore, parkour, and interact with the beautifully designed words around them. This high bar that has been set is a blessing and a curse; gamers can assume that the next Donkey Kong entry will be well done, but high expectations can often lead to letdowns.
