Sony Interactive Entertainment has been riddling God of War fans with small translation riddles in Elder Futhark, the ancient Norse runic alphabet widely used in the game.
This time around, as you can see below, the sentence meant “Realm of Many Mysteries.” By now we’re quite used to Elder Futhark, as we used a while ago to translate the tattoos on Atreus’ arm.
The challenge continues…
We have new God of War concept art for those that can translate these runes. Good luck! pic.twitter.com/CbNdTHZ9DB

And indeed, the revealed concept art showcased the “many faces” of the realm of Midgard.
Yet, there was a bit more to uncover. The tweet pointed to an interactive book on the game’s official website, showcasing four new pieces of artwork. The numbering of the files actually indicated that there might have been a few more hidden in the site. Changing the digits indeed revealed three more images in addition to those revealed today, and to the winter-themed pictures released yesterday.
You can check them all out in the gallery below. If you want to see more, you can also enjoy the gameplay trailer from E3 2017, and a batch of beautiful 4K screenshots.
God of War will release in early 2018 exclusively for PS4.
