Today’s issue of Weekly Famitsu included a spread on the upcoming game by Granzella Disaster Report 4 Plus: Summer Memories.

We get to see a new environment that appears in the game, which is an elementary school used as an emergency shelter. That’s also a starting base from where rescuers will depart to search for survivors.

In front of the gym, there is a tent where the evacuees can register their names. It hasn’t been a day since the disaster, so there are many people who are still in distress or exhausted.

The schoolyard is filled by the parked cars of those who ran away, there are even people arguing as they give in to their stress. While the water of the pool is not drinkable, survivors try to make their life even just a little better by cleaning their laundry in the sweaty summer heat.

Inside the Gym, evacuees are camping with improvised bedding, separated by cardboard partitions to restore some of the privacy that they have lost alongside their homes. There are even temporary toilets in front of which people orderly line up, even if some lose their temper due to the waiting.

The development team has put great efforts into depicting life in the shelter as realistically as possible, giving a glimpse on the everyday life in a disaster area, with everyone working together to survive in a desperate situation.

We also get to see the inventory screen, that can contain several items useful for surviving. It’s possible to change clothes, install fittings, read books and more. There are also smartphones and flashlights, but the capacity of the backpack is limited so the player may have to choose what to carry.

Interestingly, the game will include a full disaster prevention manual that can be helpful even during real disasters. Information will be unlocked at specific points of the game, or when performing related actions.

You can check out all the screenshots below, keeping in mind that they’re from magazine scans, so the quality isn’t perfect. If you want to see more, you can check out the latest trailer and the previous gallery of screenshots.

Disaster Report 4 Plus: Summer Memories is coming exclusively for PS4, and it will be released in Japan in 2018.
