Today, Sony released the PlayStation Store’s top downloaded games for the month of May in North America and Europe.
Last month, the North American PS4 charts were topped by Persona 5. This month they have been topped by NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment’s Injustice 2. Behind Injustice 2, is Gun Media’s Friday the 13th: The Game, which despite a very messy launch still managed to come in at No.2, showcasing the power of iconic licenses. Meanwhile, Saber Interactive’s NBA Playrgrounds rather surprisingly charted at No.3, despite luke-warm review scores. The Order: 1886 and God of War III Remastered — thanks to sales — round out the top five, at No.4 and No.5 respectively.
Notable debut for the month, Prey, from Arkane Studios and Bethesda only managed to grab the No.11 spot despite releasing quite early in the month.
Elsewhere on the North American charts: Farpoint debuted at No.1 in the PSVR chart, Twisted Metal: Black topped the PS2 Classics chart, and SteinsGate topped the PS Vita chart.
In Europe, things looks a bit different. Just like last month — FIFA 17 from EA once again sits prettily at the top of the PS4 chart, followed by Rocket League (No.2), Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege (No.3 — likely thanks to its big sale), Friday the 13th: The Game (No.4), and Wolfenstein: The New Order at number five (likely thanks to its big sale).
In the European PS4 chart, Injustice 2 notably came in at No.7, while NBA Playgrounds finished at No.15. Prey failed to chart completely.
Elsewhere on the European charts: Batman: Arkham VR topped the PS VR chart (Farpoint debuted at No.7), while Street Fighter X Tekken ranked No.1 on the PS Vita chart.
