We were promised last week that today we’d be getting a whole lot more details about the upcoming Mafia Trilogy, and 2K Games has now followed through on such.

Detailed in a new press release, 2K today has broken down how the specifics of the Mafia Trilogy, which won’t all be arriving at the same time. As of today, and as previous leaks seemed to indicate, the remastered iteration of Mafia II is available for purchase today on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The game will cost $30 on its own, but is also included in the larger Mafia Trilogy collection which retails for $60. Additionally, if you already own the original game on Steam, you’ll be able to upgrade to this Definitive Edition for free.

As for Mafia III: Definitive Edition, the game has already been readily available on modern platforms for years at this point but the newest bundle now includes all post-launch DLC for the game as well at a price point of $30. Fortunately, everyone who has previously owned Mafia III will be able to upgrade to the Definitive Edition for free and can now download all of the title’s add-on content free of charge on all platforms.

And when it comes to the centerpiece of this new collection, the newly-realized remake of the original Mafia, we’ll have to wait a bit longer to get our hands on it. As we originally expected, Mafia won’t be coming to modern platforms until later this summer on August 28, 2020. While the wait is surely a bit annoying for some, the game has been completely revamped with “an updated script filled with rich new dialogue, expanded backstories, and additional cutscenes; all-new gameplay sequences and features; the same stellar game engine that powered Mafia III’s best-in-class cinematics; and other enhancements.”

“The original Mafia made such a lasting impact on how video games can tell serious stories, and we know how much the series’ fans still revere it,” said Hangar 13 president and CCO Haden Blackman on the new iteration of the game. “Nearly 20 years after the Mafia series started, we now have an amazing opportunity to introduce this beloved game to a new generation of players and give longtime fans a chance to relive Tommy’s story with a stellar modern presentation, as well as new story elements and gameplay features.”

If you want to get a better look at how the remade version of Mafia is shaping up, you can check out the brief teaser trailer down below. Hopefully, we’ll end up seeing more of this remake in the future, but based on what we’ve been shown so far, it looks excellent.
