Mafia 2 And 3 Definitive Editions Listed on Australian PS Store

Last week, 2K Games announced the return of the Mafia series in the form of the Mafia Trilogy. But it seems like bringing the series back from its long sleep with the fishes wasn’t enough. The Australian Playstation store now has two new Mafia definitive edition listings, for both Mafia 2 and Mafia 3.

According to these listings, both games will be launching tomorrow, at a retail price of $30 USD. Both titles come with all of their respective expansions, although Mafia 2: Definitive Edition was the only game between the two to list any graphical improvements on its store page. So far, it seems as though nothing else will come with Mafia 3: Definitive Edition other than all of the game’s DLC.

The release date set for both of these titles, May 19, is the same day that 2K plans to unveil more on Mafia Trilogy. More information is definitely necessary in this case, as it’s not entirely clear where the definitive editions of Mafia 2 and fit. As of writing, I can’t say for certain if these are the versions of the classic Mafioso games that will be featured in the Mafia Trilogy collection later this year. Just as well, the reasoning behind launching these two titles at all is also a mystery. With the series’ collection releasing soon for $59.99 USD, fans of the series that pick up these two versions will have to spend some additional cash on a definitive edition of the original Mafia.

Either way, all questions are sure to be answered tomorrow. 2K’s upcoming announcements for the series, including Mafia Trilogy, will be detailed in a stream airing at 9:00 am PST/12:00 pm EST.
