Coming over three years after its initial release on PS4, PC players will finally be able to look forward to starting their journey as Aloy with the upcoming PC release of Horizon Zero Dawn next week. Aside from getting to play the original game in its entirety, the PC version will noticeably feature extra bells and whistles that players can take advantage of from more powerful hardware. If you’re looking to hop into Horizon next week, you can now take a look at what hardware you’ll need to get the most out of Guerrilla Games’ open-world adventure.

The full system specifications for Horizon Zero Dawn on PC have officially been revealed over on the game’s Steam page. As expected, you’ll find both the minimum and recommended specs in order to run the game, and can take a look at those requirements below:

MINIMUM:

    • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
    • OS: Windows 10 64-bits
    • Processor: Intel Core [email protected] or AMD FX [email protected]
    • Memory: 8 GB RAM
    • Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 780 (3 GB) or AMD Radeon R9 290 (4GB)
    • DirectX: Version 12
    • Storage: 100 GB available space

RECOMMENDED:

    • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
    • OS: Windows 10 64-bits
    • Processor: Intel Core [email protected] or Ryzen 5 [email protected]
    • Memory: 16 GB RAM
    • Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 (6 GB) or AMD Radeon RX 580 (8GB)
    • DirectX: Version 12
    • Storage: 100 GB available space

As one of the PS4’s graphical showcases, Horizon Zero Dawn will presumably look even better with the power of a hefty PC behind it. However, as you can tell from the system specs you’ll need a fairly beefy rig to play the game at its ideal settings, and you’ll also have to clear off a good amount of hard drive space for it at 100GB. That being said, the PC version will offer some enticing new features over the PS4 version such as expanded graphical settings, unlocked framerate, and support for ultrawide monitors, making it ideal for newcomers to the series before the release of Horizon Forbidden West next year.

Horizon Zero Dawn will arrive for PC on August 7, 2020, and is available now on PS4.
