Diablo 2: Resurrected Chat Gem Activated – What does it mean?

If you have played the original Diablo 2, you might be well aware of the plethora of easter eggs present in the game. Quite notable of all was the secret cow level, and that has returned in Diablo 2: Resurrected. That aside, the Chat Gem has got fans talking once again.

For those who are unaware, the Chat Gem is literally what it sounds like – a Gem located between the chat window and the game. For the uninitiated, it might just seem like an aesthetic element. However, there is much more to it.

If you click on the gem, you will realize that it is actually interactive. If you click on it, it will change. You are also greeted with messages like “Chat Gem Deactivated” and “Chat Gem Activated”. Moreover, sometimes players get messages like “Perfect Gem Activated” and “Moo”. Back then, nobody could figure out what it meant.

It’s been over a decade, and the entire community has the same question – What does it mean? Well, nobody knows. The developers have always stated that it is working as intended, so maybe keeping the entire community wondering is what it intended to do.
